Dr. Blowers graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1999 and joined the department later that year.
He was recently awarded da Vinci Fellow for his excellence in teaching or research combined with service. Dr. Blowers also received the Leicester and Kathryn Sherrill Creative Teaching Award, in addition to being selected as an Honors Professor.
His research interests focus on applying theoretical chemistry techniques to environmental problems for global evaluation and driving pedagogical and scientific development of life cycle assessment and green engineering.
